PlantBot Genetics...

PlantBot Genetics (www.monsantra.com) as part of the Billboard Art Project (http://billboardartproject.org) where we created advertisements for our PlantBot Brands. The Billboard Art Project is taking over roadside digital LED billboards to turn them into free public art venues for 24 hours or more. Those in-your-face and colorful canvases that you see as you sit stuck in traffic are turned over to local and international artists for a little break from everyday advertising, presenting larger-than-life art in glowing colors. Catch a glimpse from your car as you drive by, or hang out for awhile and watch the show with other artists and onlookers. You won't know what is coming next as different artists explore this medium, with the electronic canvas morphing every 6-10 seconds. Jeff Schmuki + Wendy DesChene = PlantBot Genetics...

The Roger Brown study collection is a house museum in Chicago of the collection of found objects and work by outsider artists in the former home and studio of the artist Roger Brown. In the cupboard there are some non-perishable (sort of) foods and condiments that have been left there as part of the collection. MEXICANA ACOUSTICA

“...Mexicana Acoustica resonates with the history and culture of Mexico. Taking inspiration from the ʻMariachiʼ design, the guitar features a curved back, adding depth and character to the overall sound execution; painstakingly carved from the barrel staves. The most pertinent attribute, being the soundhole, establishes a life-force of the guitar as a working instrument and is metaphorically represented by the HERRADURA (horseshoe). The stylised second soundhole and headstock are reminiscent of the famous blue agave, used to make the signature tequila. Primarily, the Mexican Jug informed my design choices whilst still maintaining symbolism of a liquid-carrying vessel, much alike the barrel. On the reverse, a map of Mexico highlights the specific location of the HERRADURA foundation and captures the essence of the Mexican spirit...”...
