Welcome to WTB!

Greetings artists and welcome to our exciting new site, Worship the Brand! I’m Dottie, the site curator, and I’m here to take you on a little journey through all the inspiring and fascinating content we have created just for you.

Before you dive in to find out more about Worship the Brand, I have an important heads up for you: Our first UPLOAD CHALLENGE is ON! You can win $500 simply by uploading your brand-inspired art, crafts, or fan art to our Gallery NOW through September 16th! (The winner will be selected at random using random.org.)

This Upload Challenge supports our core mission: to give artists of all skill levels a place to share and showcase their brand-inspired art, crafts, and fan art, and to offer frequent opportunities to WIN CASH to help support themselves as artists. Upcoming contest prizes will be $2,500, so stay tuned for more details about that -- I promise to keep you posted!

The Head Honchos

Worship the Brand (WTB) is the brainchild of Hillary Carlip and Maxine Lapiduss. Hillary, an artist and award-winning author, has been crazy about brand art forever. Photography from her book, A la Cart: The Secret Lives of Grocery Shoppers, was recently included in a museum show traveling throughout the country and was exhibited next to works by art appropriation giants like Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst, to name just a few. Maxine, a TV writer/director/producer, and also a branding consultant and creative strategist, shared Hillary’s vision of a website where artists can showcase their work, get inspired by their peers win money to support their creativity, and get pro advice from art industry luminaries, and so… WTB was born!

Worship the Brand + Creative Capital

Thanks to our colleagues at Creative Capital, the most prestigious art non-profit in the country, our Pro Advice sections will offer you invaluable business tips and advice from Creative Capital’s Professional Development Program and other top industry pros on how to get your work seen and sold.

Artist-to-Artist -- I Want to Hear From You!

And through it all, I’ll be your tour guide and your fellow artist. Yes, that’s right. I’m one too! I’ve been living and working as an artist in LA for the past five years, and I’m really looking forward to knowing more about your ideas and experiences. So please email me with any suggestions as to how to make our site and community better, and tell us about content you’d love to see.

I can’t wait to hear from you!
