Dark Road to Freedom
- There is great depth in this work as it represents the long road to freedom. The air balloon symbolises the opportunities in life; to dream big and the aphorism,'the sky is the limit.' The broken cage, once a prison was birds, is held up by a floating air balloon. The freed birds, the dark road and the mysterious keyhole interpret the endless road to the awaiting opportunities in life eventually leading them to greatness.
- Maria Adil is a student majoring in Visual Communication in Graphic design and minoring in Fine/Studio Art; she is also a freelance photographer and painter. Through her work, Maria endeavours to project in her art thought provoking messages about the world today. The adversity in her life developed, in her, an aesthetic sense and zeal for art which eventually led her to contentment in life.
