On February 27th, 2015, the world lost a cultural icon when Leonard Nimoy perished in the final stages of pulmonary lung disease. He will always be remembered as a great actor and director, as well as a defender of others rights, but we will always remember him as our long cherished alien friend, Spock. Hooray for strong female characters! Another great thing about the reboot is that the character of Uhura really comes into her own. Drawn on Corel Painter using soft oil pastels and lots and lots and lots of blending!...
I've just realized how terrible I am at naming prints! This is one of my favourite pieces I've done. Lots of textures in the background from random places, I think at one point I scanned in a pair of my jeans! Working with texture was an experiment and I enjoyed it, but mainly I just love painting McCoy, he has the best facial expressions!...
I absolutely love the reboot of Star Trek and I am a long standing fan of the Original and all of the series really! The casting choices I think were spot on and I've really enjoyed doing the character portraits. (Roll on film number three)...
